NEVER use carb cleaner to clean a MAF sensor! You have to use MAF sensor cleaner only!

Do not use anything except mass air flow sensor cleaner. The other products will either damage or leave a film on the wirses.

You are absolutely right. The cans may look the same, but using carb cleaner can actually damage the sensor. MAF sensor cleaner is all you should use. You damage one of these, you are going to be paying a couple hundred bucks (most likely) for a new one. I have a metro, 3 cylinder and it's a $200 part.

I wouldn't trust using carburetor cleaner on electrical wires or connections, don't you think high quality fast drying electronic cleaner would be better?

I noticed alot of the Ytube videos are removing just the sensor like this dude is doing it. What's the difference from just the sensor and the whole tube?

Maf sensors r very delicate an touchy if u remove it the way he did ur twice as likely to damage it removing whole unit helps prevent damage plus cleaning the unit whole prevents any containments from braking lose an re clogging maf sensor

Yes u are correct with the first one. But whats the reason for taking off the whole assembly when all he has to do is, unscrew it and spray it? Im not all that familiar with cars so thats why i ask.

Sorry but! what do you check with an Ohm meter on the pins? the sensors are not directly connected on the pins man!
If your sensor wires are broken you can read a resistance on the pins!!!
This is not a good way to check your MAF sensor…
