Home Theater: Bowers and Wilkins – CMC2

This is product video describing my Bowers and Wilkins Center Channel. CMC2.

The stands is: “ST-CC 17″ Speaker Stand in Black” Search for this on google. The company I bought it from doesn’t seem to be in business anymore. As of 2017 I am stilling using the speaker but not the stand.

You seem to be more down to earth than the crowd I usually read and/or hear from. The second they hear brand names like B&W or Macintosh (Mac), they become audio engineering researchers…or, at least, they think they do. Put simply, we OWN a pair of B&W 802N (fronts) and a pair of 805N (rears). Both pairs are driven with Mac amplification, which is "controlled" by a Mac MX-series control center. So the question du jour is: Is there anything to this whole "soundstage" thing? When I ask the audiophile set about this, I get back all kind of subjective terms like "analytical," "bright," "warm" and "accurate." Needless to say, B&W 'ain't' giving anything away, so I'm asking someone who I believe will cut through the audiophile nonsense (BS) and give me a straight answer. Put another way, What would you be looking for, if you were matching a center to a set of B&W 80XN-series speakers? Anything else you care to share would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

How you holding up man? Just became a huge audiophile and to start the collection, I just got the cm 10s and pv1. I want a center cm s2 speaker but I have the same set up with the fireplace. Have you done anything different since the video?

I have cm10 s1 for my front L and R.  Do you think the cmc s2 could suffice or would you recommend cmc2 s2?

I have the same setup, CM9, CMC2, and the CM5s for rears. They trully sound amazing. My biggest problem now is finding a TV stand that matches nicely size-wise because of the large footprint it has. So far Ive narrowed down to the BDI OLA 8137, or one of the Salamander Design low profile.

Do you still use the cmc2. If so from the point of making this video, how are you liking it?

I thought I would take the time to say thank you for talking about your speaker and sharing you experiences. More often than not, youtube is filled with videos of someone playing the same song and there is no commentary what so ever. The only real thing I get out of it is "hey, your speakers sound exactly like my 10 dollar PC speakers"

Sweet! I love B&W speakers. Big fan over here also. I love their higher end, but just can't afford it. Thanks for sharing!
