Blu Rays aren't expensive. Newer movies can run you $15 bucks, but Walmart and Best Buy have overflowing bins of $5 movies, lots of decent films too. Switching to Blu Ray is probably the single biggest improvement you can make to a home system, light years better. Don't worry about a power conditioner, spend the $50 and switch to Blu Ray, it is worth it by far.

hell, i bought my blu ray player years ago along with my cheapo 39 inch, yeah marketed as 39 not 40 inch flatscreen. i must have 300+ dvds but only a handful of actual blu ray discs. older stuff is just cool. no lie, i still have component cables and they put out full 1080p. new tv's limit it to maybe 720p. newer stuff sucks and made from cheap materials. not much 4K material actually out there anyways and higher refresh rates like 120 hz only matter for video games or if you watch alotta sports. ever watch a movie on a tv with a 120 Hz refresh rate? looks fake to me, especially older classic movies

Good video and a good rep but the tv must go so they go extinct. Don't want to see or lift one again . A flat white wall and a projector is cheaper .

I like how thin Marantz are, but I also don't like that. I like that they can get all that into a little box but it looks underpowered and armature to the armatures

What a shitty job with those speakers cables. Running up and down ceilings and walls. The idea behind surround sound is to be able to reproduced theater like sound in your living room conspicuously Meaning when someone sits down to watch a movie and all of the sudden hears the sound, the person should be intrigue or curious where the sound is emanating from. In this set up is very obvious and no matter how good your system sounds, if doesn't gives the audience that curiosity feel, your system is a failure. They are many ways to connect and rearrange the speakers, but for God sake, hide those wires. Don't make it so obvious.

Sonus Faber in a "budget" theater? Really? Add the Venere wall mounted speaker for your surrounds as long as you're at it! Really love the speakers but the rest really is "budget," as you titled the video. Noticed the 49er floor matt as well. Just upped the value for me!! Good job.

Why wouldn't you route the wires from the rears from the top instead of the bottom looping around. It would look much cleaner????

Thanks, yes you really have to be careful out there, a lot of it comes down to what you buy and how you connect and adjust it…newer is often but not always better…RC
