I believe you need to refer to the installation instructions. Drain hose should be run thru the side wall around 32" from the floor to prevent back-flow into the dishwasher

Good job. The lowest estimate I got from 4 plumbers to install my new dishwasher was $600.00. This is for a new install. No dishwasher has ever been installed in this house that I just bought last week. The dishwasher I just purchased two days ago only cost me $348.00 before taxes. Why would I have to pay almost double for the install? That makes no sence. Thanks to you, I'll save a whole bunch of money. I'm eating Porterhouse steak in a day or two.

I've watched a lot of plumbing videos lately even though I am an electrician. However despite not being a plumber you know what a hole saw is, the plumber's iv seen use a Stanley 1lb hammer to make a similar sized hole in the cabinet.

I had an installer tell me the 3rd green wire did not need to be grounded, even though the instructions show it also, guess I hired an idiot.

Is it necessary to attach it to the cabinet? If it leaks and you need to take it out, that will take longer time.

Teflon tape should wound the same direction as the tightening of the pieces so it does not have pressure in the revers of the winding of the tape

Only thing I want to say is that no, there should NOT be another outlet on the hot water cut off valve. That would not be normal if you are installing a new dish washer instead of replacing one. Should maybe make an annotation about that or it could confuse people that know even less what they are doing than I do (I know you mentioned a setup in the beginning, but just suggesting it be annotated since you specifically said "there should be" in regards to the second outlet on the cutoff valve) . Great video though, just wanted to make that suggestion! Thanks!

I have some concerns about this install. The Teflon tape was over the end of the threads. This will cause the solenoid valve to fail when the Teflon get washed into it. Never tape the first thread. Also the cord was not put into the JB under the dishwasher so its an "open air splice" and a grommet was not used on the cord so the cord could be pulled and break the connection at the wire nuts. Overall nice job but the details are what matters when doing any job properly. The electrical inspector will fail this installation if he / she were to look under the dishwasher.

Good video.  Very informative.  I had to knock out the disposal plug and use the loop method for the drain line because I would have had to replace my faucet to use an air gap.  My old dishwasher drain line was plugged into the wall underneath the sink hard line, so it was the WORST place for it!  Everything from my sink could have been going into my dishwasher.  How they got away with this in the 80's is sick.   Anyway good  video.  Thanks!
