Klipsch’s Reference Premiere system aims to deliver some serious bang for your buck. The technology behind some of its ultra-high-end speakers has trickled down to the Reference Premiere series, offering the company’s best sound for the dollar yet. The over-the-top system featured here runs $5500, and that includes towers in the rear surround position, which is completely unnecessary (but, hey, we were really going for it here!)
We used the Klipsch RP-280F ($579/each) for the front left/right and rear surround channels, with dual 8-inch drivers and a 1-inch Tractrix Horn tweeter in each. For the center channel, we got the big boy: an RP-450C with four 5.25-inch drivers and 1-inch horn tweeter. The side surround channels were held down by the RP-250S, with dual 5.25-inch drivers and 1-inch tweeters each. And finally, LFE information was belted out by two gargantuan R-115SW subwoofers, with 15-inch drivers and 800-watts of power each. Total system weight- 480 pounds. Total system cost- $5500

Wow if it’s mean looking it must be good. Awesome must be a technical term I’m not familiar with. Their bi-directional speakers were invented by Bose which everybody shits on but Klipsch must have figured it out. They’re fun. How are speakers fun exactly. Klipsch couldn’t have produced better advertisement. Calling this a review is really misrepresenting your video. Sponsored ad should have been the words used in your description. Useless channel. You should pay me to watch.
Hey I don’t see the bottom piece on my rp280f. Did I leave em in the box or were they purchased separate?
What receiver would you need for this?
me watching 7.2 surround system in 2.1 setup
Ok I have a question a friend of mine is selling me a pair of 7 year old B&W 630s for $900 is that a good deal? or should I but a pair of brand new Polk S60s for $800.
I have been very disappointed with Klipsch. For all the hype it is astonishing how little they care to build them with quality components. Crossovers suck, cabinets don't dampen sound well and create dirty harmonics and some cancelling effects. There are custom re builders out there that can replace the crossover and dampen and fix the cabinet porting and they then sound like we expected them to. But why spend so many extra hundreds on that stuff when these are so highly touted and priced???
I have the same setup except for I have two r 112sw subwoofers in my living room that is about a quarter size of the room you have those in. My wife loves it lol
does anyone know what kind of wires are used for these speakers?
Just set one of these sets up for my dad (only two of the tall ones though in the set we got). He is loving, sounds pretty amazing

I'm so mad. When I upgraded to the Klipsch reference series. They were beginning to mark down the Reference Premieres to the budget model price 😭

I see that you have your left and right front speakers and the subs next to them and I noticed you have one closer to the TV than one of the front speakers and one further away from the other front speaker. I have a 5.1.2 system and I have always heard different things as to where to place my sub, and that is with me just having one sub should I place it closer to the TV than my front speaker or should I place it further away from the tv than the front speaker, my concern is that if I place it closer to the TV than my front speaker is that it will drowned out the sound coming from the speaker next to it. If you have any advice on this issue I would like to hear about it. BTW I don't have a large living room which is why I'm not running a 7.2.4 system and for the size of my living room my sub is way overkill, it's a Klipsch reference 400watt 12" sub.
