What if you left it for 10 hours? I was was cleaning my MacBook Pro with touchbar, and I think I used too much water. There was no signs of water so I had no idea, and the next morning (so it was left for 14 hours upright allowing the water to seep in) the screen had water creeping up it. The key board didn't work so I can't login. I don't know what to do because 1. We don't live in America, the only Apple Store there will be is online. 2. It's not even 6 months old. 3. It dosent have screws on the bottom, it's all glued together, and it costed $2000. I feel like someone died.

My best friend spilled wine on my MacBooks key board and because we were clueless we just closed the laptop for a night and just left it like that. The next day when we realized that the screen still was green I asked my father who told me that I had to turn it upside down and also dry it. After 3 days I opened it again and I still didn't work, then I took my MacBook to a "professional" riper shop after almost 2 weeks they informed me that my MacBook had been fixed with a cost of 7€. My MacBook hopefully worked fine for 2 weeks until today that it all of a sudden was worst than before. The screen was not only green but it was not even useable.

Is there anything I can still do to fix the computer because I'm in great need of it?

I spilt a tiny bit of orange juice (cordial) down the back of mine while the lid was closed and it killed it dead. I have taken it apart and I can see top of the board by where the fans are is a bit sticky but its totally dead. I have tryed to disconnect the battery but nothing is happening when I try to fire it up. I guess my mac book is nothing more than a door stop now huh ?

Great vid. My son spilled water on his MBP. HE alerted me when it was happening yet by the time I got the bottom cover off it was making scary sounds. I tried alcohol to remove this corrosion and one I did not know about which left a lot of green on the board. I was likely too aggressive with the brushing on badly corroded connections. On to the next board, still no power on. Seems the DC in was fried and prevented any power on.

I got one microscopic drop on my track pad, and now it doesn't work. The few drops weren't any bigger than the size of a lady bug. Apple computers are VERY sensitive to liquid.

I spilled water over my MacBook Pro and let it dry for two days (removed the battery, hdd and RAM, but not the motherboard), put it back together and it doesn't turn on. The charging lamp is not on, it doesn't make a sound.
Can I assume that its dead or could it be the battery?

I recently spilled some soda on my macbook air mid 2012 which works well with the exception of the wifi and camera hardware mot being detected as well as the keyboard being a bit slow.
I got some isopropyl, opened up the computer and gently rubbed some on it but I didn't think it removed the soda well at all however I didn't rub it in like you did here because I was scared of ruining something. I didn't take out the logic board either, cause again. I'm scared of ruining it. am I overreacting? is the logic board not as sensitive as I imagine? should I take the logic board as well as the battery out and rub isopropyl on the whole laptop?

Hello. 5 days ago there was running coffee (only Black coffee, no sugar or milk) into my MacBook Pro on the backside in this little slot.

Now my MacBook doesn't work anymore, only if I use the charger the MacBook Pro is working, but it is very loud.

Do you think it is possible to work properly again, if I clean Everything inside?

People so often try to turn on a device when it's been wet, "Oh I hope it still works!"
Well, this way you're making sure it will not ever work again.

My laptop apparently has water damage, it turns on for a little while before it dies again, is it possible to still save my laptop by cleaning out any possible corrosion?

Liquid spills cause all sorts of issues. I just got a MacBook Pro 11,1 from a customer today that spilled water on it. They took it to Apple and they said the same thing. Anyway, it's fan is running at Max speed constantly and CPU usage is at over 300%. Strangely enough the CPU is running cool, so it's not the CPU overheating. They have been using this computer for several months like this, it's real slow though. I wish I could have gotten it the day they spilled water on it, I could have dried it off and scrubbed the board with high grain alcohol. Apple computers are so sensitive, they will not work if they encounter any little problem unlike PC's. Oh well.

My mac book got KO by water, even tho I disconnected the battery from the mother bored and dried it over night I still had to send it to a tech repair shop (it was that bad) but now I know what to do if it happens again 🙂
(And keep chopsticks and water away from the MacBook) 🙁

Great advice on the rubbing alcohol and small brush. I spilt water on my macbook pro and apple wanted $755 to refurbish the logic board. After just simply cleaning off the corrosion spots, my mac turned right on. Thank!
