i have an acer xb271hu (so the newer one). have been having similar issues on boot for a while and at random. somtimes the display even starts but i get a horrible 640×480 resolution or myabe it gets to 2560×1440 but doesn't get above 24hz, 60hz, 85hz… it's kinda wonky. what I usually do that (almost always works) is: 1) switch to HDMI (no need for anything to be plugged in) 2) go to the overclocking settings and press the apply and reboot setting; that reboots the monitor 3) switch back to DP input. it usually fixes bad NO SIGNAL, bad resolution/refresh rates.. but not always… so if it still doesn't work I just turn of the PC turn the monitor completely off (via it's integrated PSU switch) and then turn the computer on let it boot into windows, and turn the monitor on after fully booted via the power switch (you can also use the power cord). and even that, sometimes doesn't work (very rarely), then I turn everything off, unhook all powercords, pray to the DisplayPort gods, cross my fingers and it usually starts working again……… I also think this must be some sort of weird DP negotiation problem. had this happen with a 1070 and my 1080ti. guess we'll just have to live with this….

any ideas for my monitor when i use it at 165hz the picture has what looks like noisy splotchy look, when i lower it to 144hz i get like flicker and scan lines and when i get to 120hz it starts to become usable but with a ever slight flicker and at 60hz its perfect? can it be a simple bad capacitor? looks like opening it up is a pain and if its anything more difficult i probably won't be able to do it any ways, thanks. I have been using for years at 165hz and recently it started to get worse and worse over time.

Mine is flickering and stuff, going crazy (video on my channel) – it's 5 years old and way past warrenty so I'm gonna disassemble it, most likely a power supply issue

i got this monitor. the displayport cable damaged the monitors dp socket. No display when i plug it. Only boot ups the acer logo. screen is fine. I am trying to solder the dp socket but in my country Dominican Rep. no such luck. I got to do it my self. As you know this monitor was pretty expensive back in the day and is still very good 1440p monitor. Any additional thoughts you can help me?
