First time I've seen this video, and I know it's old, but it's good. 👍
Lots of scammers are still trying this ploy on vulnerable elderly people, some of whom are even at higher risk now, because the pandemic has made their computer their only lifeline to the outside world.

This guy is a swift talker. He can sell a long sleeve shirt to a snake! NEVER let anyone in to your computer unless you know absolutely for sure they are from a legitimate support service that is under a name brand that you contacted from knowing the service, and not something you found from a random warning on the net, or from some type of random phone call or some type of random unsolicited email.

For example, if you purchased a virus scanner and you called the virus scanner company using their documentation these should obviously be safe. Or, if you have a registered copy of your operating system, and you called the author company using the documentation that is from the operating system support. This is the same for purchased programs.

Have to admit, I could ALMOST believe that guy. No thick accent, sounds American. Until he started using profanity..no real professionals would do that.
When I've had problems with my internet server & my son couldn't fix it,I've called the co. & the young man was very professional, mannerly & patient w/ this old woman (me) & talked me through getting it back up & going again.

You suck at making scam videos next time let them get on a virtual machine and then call them out on their bs. This video was useless because he never did anything wrong throughout the video

In a work environment you aren't suppose to take anything personal even when the customer is being judgmental. You would be fired if you are a professional in this type of customer service environment. That is why it is a scam :(…

Hey Jay, thanks for your video! I can't believe I almost fell for this type of scam. So I had a voice message running in the background telling me to contact a Microsoft support engineer and was walked through a similar process. I did grant them access to my computer, but told him I needed to investigate a little further when he wanted my credit card info. He showed me a bunch of stuff that looked like legit computer threats and even directed me to wikipedia where he typed in the term koobspace so he could explain what type of virus-worm my computer was supposedly exposed to. He wanted me to pay $199 so he could fix my computer immediately and kept emphasizing that my network was insecure and I needed to let him fix it right now. When I said I felt rushed into making a purchase I wasn't comfortable with, he became frustrated and that's when I knew he was trying to scam me. My question to you is, were those threats and the k9 virus real infections that I should take to someone at a store and have looked at or was he fabricating everything? I know I made a big mistake by granting him access to my computers, but I don't have anything saved that he would find useful. I just have saved school assignments, nothing with any personal information. I have passwords saved for my email and stuff, but I don't think he can get in to them now that I have cancelled the session, cutting him off from my pc. I feel so stupid right now – smh!

I hear these guys will download all your files once they are in your computer, so a super cool idea would to be get a virtual machine, install the deadliest virus (something that will fuck them over but not until a certain say 4PM or something when they are trying to "help" someone and then watch as it would infect all their computers and fuck them up HARD

You should have setup a VM with a freshly installed Windows, connect to some sort of VPN and allow them to remote into that machine then observe what they do. If they start making false claims about the machine then call them out on their BS right then and there.
