Very nice for learning. After getting the idea from you, I opened one nonworking computer SMPS today and found that the thermistor at the power input is lying completely burnt. The rating of the thermistor is not readable. Will please let me know the specification of the thermistor suitable for this for replacement ? I want to repair it following your instructions.
