Use speech to control your TV and home theatre. This is a demo of Voice control for XBMC.

Better than Siri for TV will ever be. The ultimate XBMC voice demo. Most standard voice commands are demonstrated including browsing requesting music Tv shows movies, setting volume, changing view modes, zooming, asking for information about now playing and much more. You can customize all your commands and create your own macros. Something you will probably never be able to do with Siri. You can also control other programs and your home automation devices.

The skin used is Aeon MQ2

XBMC can be running on Linux and VoxCommando can talk to XBMC through the network, but VoxCommando must be running on windows Vista or later.

That's right. In VoxCommando. I did not use any plugins. I used only the standard configuration for XBMC Eden.
There is a ton of information on the VoxCommando forum, wiki, and there are many video guides for installation and customization of VoxCommando on my YouTube channel. If you still need help with something, please post a question on the forum, but try to be specific about what you are trying to accomplish, what you have tried to do, and what the actual problem is.

Thanks Steve. I don't think any plugins are used in this demo. This is just the standard XBMC configuration for EDEN. It is possible there are a few extra commands that are not standard, but no plugins. This video is quite old now so I don't remember exactly. If you are using Frodo there is also a standard configuration that is available with very similar commands.

Hi Geoffrey. No it really has nothing to do with Siri, or iPhone. It runs on windows 7. There is a link to the website in the description, or you can just google VoxCommando and you'll find the forum very easily.

    Hi,
I'm VERY interesting in your demonstration and the ability to integrate it with others tools (for home automation purpose …). But I don't really get how it worked … do you use Siri and proxy ? In your comment you said that we could get help in a forum, could you share the link ?

Why is so choppy? Is it your recording software or is it your XBMC? What are you using as a michrophone?

I hope that it will be a positive experience for you. You can get help any time on the forums. Note that you can do a lot more than just control XBMC with this program, but it needs to be set up according to your needs. For your purposes as a quadriplegic you will need to get the right microphone setup. A wireless headset would be ideal if it is comfortable enough for you, but do not try to use bluetooth. There is a lot of information about microphones etc on the forum and wiki.

I'm a quadriplegic, and the thought of being able to control XBMC by myself without the need to use my hands is literally making me weep. I'm going to grab the ever loving shit out of this app, and bless your soul for making it.
